The Speech-Language Pathologist’s responsibilities may include:
-
Providing individual and group speech and language therapy, which include but not limited to vocabulary development, auditory comprehension and memory, and expressive language
-
Conducting assessments in the areas of articulation, voice, fluency, expressive and receptive language, and pragmatic language. Providing student observations and teacher interviews to help with overall understanding of student's strengths and needs

Collaborating with teachers and families to help with generalizing skills in the classroom and home.

Providing appropriate and effective language and speech therapy experiences for students from a wide range cultural backgrounds
JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
-
Assess communication skills of the assigned population.
-
Develop individual speech and language programs based upon assessment results.
-
Work with classroom teachers, para-educators, and parents to implement speech and language programs.
-
Participate in the eligibility and planning required for development of the IEP when a communication disorder is present.
-
Maintain records as required.
-
Establish home training programs for students.
-
Conduct speech and language therapy programs for students.
-
Provide consultative services to parents and teachers
-
Coordinate speech and language services with students' regular and special education programs.
-
Demonstrate attendance sufficient to complete the duties of the position as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
A California credential authorizing service for Speech-Language Pathology Services AND
-
A valid license / RPE issued from Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board, California.

A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required
NOTES:
-
School setting - 9 or 10 month positions may be available.

Employer also pays for CEUs, license reimbursements, individual therapy allowance, conference registrations, professional development. Relocation assistance is also available.

Salary: $50.00 to $75.00 /hour based on experience
